Job Description - Quality Technician Lead - 2nd Shift
The Quality Technician Shift Lead will serve as the key leader for Inspectors and Testers, ensuring that quality processes, verification activities, and compliance requirements are executed effectively and consistently. This role bridges frontline quality execution with Quality Engineering, providing direction, coaching, daily oversight, and escalation support. The role strengthens organizational quality performance by ensuring standardized processes, strong problem solving discipline, robust inspection activities, and effective collaboration with manufacturing, warranty, customer quality, and engineering teams. Lead, train, and support Inspectors and Testers to ensure consistent adherence to inspection methods, sampling plans, workmanship standards, and QC requirements. Serve as the daily quality lead on the production floor, providing decision‑making support for nonconforming material, escalations, and inspection/test outcomes. Represent Quality in Tier 2 meetings, reporting defects, trends, escalations, and action‑item status.Conduct and oversee process/product audits and ensure compliance with QMS / EQMS / ISO 9001 standards. Lead containment and verification activities for internal and customer complaints, including quarantine and testing validation.Support continuous improvement initiatives (Hi5), defect reduction, and structured problem‑solving using tools such as 5 Whys and Pareto analysis. Review inspection plans, control plans, pFMEAs, and calibration/tooling verification to ensure alignment with processes and compliance. Maintain quality records, ensure safety and 5S discipline, and provide backup support for Quality Engineers and other Quality Leaders as needed. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution. Minimum 1 year of manufacturing quality (inspection, testing, auditing) experience. No relocation is provided for this position, only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the El Paso, TX facility will be considered. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field (preferred), with training and experience in quality assurance principles. Strong problem‑solving capability using PDCA, 8D, A3, Fishbone, DMAIC, 5 Why, and Pareto analysis. Experience leading, coaching, or mentoring teams and managing nonconforming material control.Knowledge of EQMS, ISO 9001, lean tools (VSM, 5S, Standard Work, Pull Systems), and ability to create or improve Standard Work and process controls. Proficient with PCAT, AS400, Wisper, calibration/testing equipment, and able to write technical documentation; IPC‑620 familiarity or certification. Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite
