Job Description - Quality Technician, Operations

Essential Responsibilities

This position will provide in-the-Fab Quality, Quality Assurance (QA), and Quality Control (QC) to maintain and improve the use of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System for the Temecula Campus.

Quality Engineering

  • Drive corrective and preventive action implementation with cross-functional teams and evaluate effectiveness of the corrective actions.
  • Drive key programs and resolution of customer quality events while improving customer satisfaction through continuous improvement initiatives.

Quality Management

  • Support internal audits for the key processes and external audit activities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that align with organizational goals.

Quality Control

  • Perform quality inspection of critical incoming materials and associated CofAs/CofCs.
  • Perform quality inspection of outgoing products and Quality signoff.
  • Evaluate outgoing quality methodology used to prevent quality events and escapes of finished products.

Quality Assurance

  • Be the in-the-Fab Quality Champion. Perform QA verification activities. Report any non-compliant findings to the Quality & Operations management teams and drive solutions to close the gaps.
  • Monitor Quality calibration schedule and ensure Quality devices are calibrated in a timely manner.
  • Monitor Test Floor ESD compliance, records, and ESD device calibration in a timely manner.
  • Assist with documentation of Procedures, Specifications, and Work Instructions to provide clear operational instructions that enable an efficient and controlled manufacturing process.
  • Perform Visual Inspection & Defect Classification. Perform Final QA check prior to ship release.

Work Environment

Roughly 90% of day is spent in-Fab, which has a temperature-controlled cleanroom environment that requires the use of a full-body gown, over-boots, over-hood, safety glasses, and ESD equipment. Frequent gowning and de-gowning are required. Frequent interruptions, static noise, and alarms (auditory and flashing lights) can be expected. 

Physical Demands

  • Constantly in a stationary position, often sitting and/or standing for prolonged periods.
  • Constantly viewing a computer monitor for prolonged periods.
  • Frequently walking around the Fab for prolonged periods.
  • Occasionally required to push and/or pull 40+ lb. objects, such as tool components.
  • Frequently required to lift 40+ lb. and occasionally carry it short distances.
  • Frequently required reach, bend, twist, squat, kneel, and stoop to access and work on tools in the Fab.
  • May often require repetitive motions involving the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Frequently required to handle items using small ranges of motion (e.g. fingers and hands) and large ranges of motion (e.g., full-arms and shoulders) for carrying cassettes and lot boxes.

Compensation and Benefits

Expected salary range: $22 - $35 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
