 JOB SUMMARY

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

FORMULATING SUPPORT AND QUALITY TESTING: 

• Perform accurate data entry for inventory of products, ingredients, and packaging; rotate and organize inventory and stock as necessary
• Complete batch sheets for accurate sample production and record-keeping
• Plan/Measure/Pack tomato products in jars and pouches
• Run and record analytical testing of samples 
• Batch and Cook products for customers and other projects
• Analyze internal products and competitor offerings 
• Manage safe operation of testing and cooking equipment

RECIPE AND KITCHEN SUPPORT: 

• Conduct research on current culinary and consumer food trends for ideation 
• Support in preparing recipes for food photography 
• Responsible for innovation kitchen ingredient management and complete traceability of these as well as all products prepared in the kitchen
• Assist in maintenance of office supply inventory, calendar events, and other organizational functions as needed
• Prepare the Innovation Kitchen for customer visits and other demonstrations as required

FACILITY SANITATION AND GMP STANDARDS: 

• Manage and execute daily, weekly and monthly cleaning and maintenance of the Innovation Kitchen facility 
• Conduct equipment calibrations and appropriate cleaning requirements as required.
• Comply with all personnel and food safety protocols in the facility
• Perform work in a clean, sanitary manner at all times per Hirzel GMP standards and local health department requirements

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate/Undergraduate degree in Culinary, Food Science, Nutrition, or related field is preferred but not required
• Preferred 2-3 years experience in a kitchen, but not required 
• Organizational skills and attention to detail
• Must have a valid driver’s license and valid passport
• Must have a love and knowledge of food, and a desire and interest in keeping up with the latest food trends, and basic cooking skills
