RAD TECH-HOSP/MVH

Works under their scope of practice and in accordance with certificate/licensure in the administration of medications, operation of equipment, and venipuncture. Coordinates patient flow and the activities of the Radiology Department. 1. Performs Radiographic procedures of diagnostic quality as ordered by the referring physician and/or radiologist on patients of all ages according to established protocols and evaluates images for technical quality. 2. Obtains clinical history and data for correlation with the radiographic procedure. 3. Implements screening and safety measures in accordance with prescribed policies / procedures. Performs daily and weekly QC as required. 4. Prepares and administers contrast media to the patient according to policy. Practices sterile techniques. 5. Assists Radiologist in special procedures and in performing medical treatment during emergency situations. 6. Coordinates patient care with other areas in order to optimize patient time and satisfaction. 7. Assesses learning needs and educates patients/families regarding procedures based on individual needs. Minimum Level of Education Required: Associate degree Type of degree: Allied Health Area of study or major: Radiologic Technology Minimum Level of Experience Required: No prior job-related work experience Preferred experience: One year experience in medical/patient care environment Human anatomy Proficient in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Proficient in Radiology Information System (RIS) and Image Storage Radiation safety CPR Certification required within 30 days of hire ARRT RT (R) registry required ODH licensure required
