• Billing and Coding: Accurately code and bill radiation oncology services using appropriate medical codes (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS).
• Claims Submission: Prepare and submit accurate insurance claims to Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
• Payment Posting: Post payments from insurance companies and patients, performing reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.
• Patient Account Management: Communicate with patients regarding their accounts, including billing inquiries and payment plans.
• Denial Management: Review and resolve claim denials; investigate reasons for denials and appeal when appropriate.
• Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits prior to treatment and communicate findings to the healthcare team.
• Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on industry regulations and billing practices to ensure compliance with federal and state laws.
• Collaboration: Work closely with healthcare providers, administrative staff, and insurance representatives to facilitate billing processes.
• Documentation Management: Maintain accurate records of billing transactions and correspondences related to accounts.
• Reporting: Generate billing and accounts receivable reports for management review and analysis.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Radiation Oncology Medical Billing is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or certification in medical billing and coding is preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance policies, and billing procedures specific to radiation oncology.
