Radiation Therapist

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Radiation Therapist to join our healthcare team. The Radiation Therapist will be responsible for administering radiation treatments to patients as prescribed by oncologists, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the treatment process. This role requires a compassionate individual who can effectively communicate with patients and their families while maintaining a high standard of care.

Duties

• Administer radiation therapy treatments according to established protocols and physician orders.
• Prepare and maintain treatment equipment, ensuring all devices are functioning properly.
• Conduct patient assessments to monitor treatment progress and identify any side effects or complications.
• Educate patients about the treatment process, potential side effects, and aftercare instructions.
• Collaborate with oncologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Adhere to safety protocols to protect patients and staff from unnecessary radiation exposure.
• Stay updated on advancements in radiation therapy techniques and technologies.

Years of Experience: 1 year(s)

Certifications: ARRT T, BLS, State license

Charting System: Epic

Skills

• Proficient in medical terminology related to oncology and radiation therapy.
• Strong understanding of radiation therapy principles and techniques.
• Knowledge of critical care practices and acute care settings.
• Familiarity with anatomy, physiology, and medical imaging technologies such as CT scans and mammography.
• Excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction and education.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accurate treatment delivery.
