Radiation Therapist

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Radiation Therapist to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for administering radiation treatments to patients with cancer and other diseases, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the process. You will work closely with oncologists and other medical professionals to develop treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, along with experience in radiation therapy and medical imaging.

Duties

• Administer prescribed radiation therapy treatments to patients in accordance with established protocols.
• Collaborate with oncologists to develop individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments.
• Monitor patient reactions during treatment sessions and provide support as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of patient treatments, progress, and any side effects experienced.
• Operate radiation therapy equipment safely and effectively while adhering to safety protocols.
• Educate patients about the treatment process, potential side effects, and post-treatment care.
• Participate in quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Stay current with advancements in radiation therapy techniques and technologies.

Years of Experience: 3 year(s)

Certifications: ARRT, BLS

Experience

• Proven experience in acute care settings is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to radiation therapy and oncology.
• Familiarity with medical imaging techniques including CT scans and mammography is advantageous.
• Understanding of critical care practices and the physiological effects of radiation on the human body.
• Comprehensive knowledge of human anatomy relevant to radiation treatment planning.
• Certification as a Radiation Therapist from an accredited program is required.
• Previous experience working in a clinical environment is highly desirable.

Pay: $69.01 per hour
