Job Summary:

The Radiologic Technologist takes radiographic images while performing a diagnostic imaging examination.

 Key Responsibilities: 

  • Assesses patient and their condition to determine proper handling and special requirements.
  • Explains and prepares the patient for all radiographic procedures.
  • Interviews patients and reviews available clinical data from charts in order to alert nurses and/or physicians to possible contradictions for procedure.
  • Relies on extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology and effects of disease processes to properly and safety position the patient for maximum diagnostic yield.
  • Maintains radiographic equipment and x-ray rooms in proper working condition. Reports malfunctions and necessary repairs to supervisory personnel.
  • Checks stock inventory and initiates orders.
  • Attends all required Safety Training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety and specific job-related hazards.
  • Orders UPT as needed on female patients.
  • Must have working knowledge of electronic medical records and how to navigate within the system to retrieve material.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Associates Degree in a related field or healthcare field.
  • Required registered Radiologic Technologist and state licensed.
  • Required ARRT license.
  • One year work experience required in a similar field, additional education may be substituted for years of experience.
