GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing imaging procedures, maintaining equipment, and ensuring patient safety and comfort during imaging processes. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and excellent patient care abilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Perform Imaging Procedures: Conduct all imaging modalities as required, following established protocols and safety standards.
  2. Patient Interaction: Explain procedures to patients, addressing any concerns and ensuring their comfort throughout the process.
  3. Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain radiological equipment, ensuring it is in proper working order and reporting any issues to the appropriate personnel.
  4. Quality Control: Adhere to quality assurance protocols, ensuring images are of high quality and that all documentation is complete and accurate.
  5. Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and enhance treatment outcomes.
  6. Safety Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to minimize risks for patients and staff, including radiation safety measures.
  7. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate patient records, including imaging reports, patient history, and consent forms. 

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

•Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or related field; a bachelor's degree is preferred.

•Current state licensure and certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

•Current BLS certification

•Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a radiology or imaging role, preferably in an outpatient or surgical setting.

•Strong technical skills in imaging equipment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment.

•Proficient in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other healthcare technology.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

•The role may require standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of heavy materials.

•The procedure and operating room environment can be fast-paced and requires the ability to respond quickly to emergencies.
