The Radiologic Technologist will be performing plain film x-ray imaging in an occupational medicine setting, ensuring accurate diagnostics and patient safety. You will collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to ensure accurate images are obtained for the well-being of the patients.
Essential JobResponsibilities
Conduct x-ray imaging for occupational physical examinations and injuries.
Prepare and position patients for imaging, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.
Operate and maintain x-ray equipment, performing regular checks and troubleshooting to ensure optimal functionality.
Collaborate with medical providers to interpret and analyze images, providing essential diagnostic support.
Adhere to radiation safety guidelines to protect patients, staff, and yourself from unnecessary exposure.
Assist in the training of students, ensuring adherence to best practices and protocols.
Assist with a variety of medical assisting tasks
Maintain a working knowledge of all equipment and machines.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for patients; ensure that all necessary documentation is completed in compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and other regulatory requirements.
Calibrate all equipment at the beginning of each day in accordance with manufacturer’s requirements. Additional calibrations may be required at other times.
Conduct periodic surveys of equipment and stations so that all safety and hygiene hazards to patients.
Administer respirator fit tests in full compliance with OSHA guidelines.
Maintain and develop patient relationships by responding to questions and concerns professionally.
Respond to after-hour imaging requests as needed
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a radiology technician, preferably in occupational health, urgent care, or similar settings.
General organizational skills and attention to detail.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Computer skills including electronic medical records
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and confidentiality.
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of experience in diagnostic imaging, preferably in occupational medicine
State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist in the state of Louisiana
ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
Attend and successfully pass certifying course in NIOSH and CAOHC
Attend and successfully pass required drug and alcohol testing courses
Strong communication skills both written and oral
Must enjoy working with the public and have a strong initiative to work independently and as a team member
Must be able to adapt to work in varied environments and learn detailed procedures
Proven ability to work under pressure and make effective decisions
Must be able to fully pass all job site verification requirements including but not limited to background check, drug screening, and safety examinations
Cross-train and assist other departments as necessary
Willingness to work at different locations if the company need arises

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to read, talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle training equipment and tools, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. The employee occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment

Reporting Responsibilities
The Radiologic Technologist reports directly to the Supervisor of OHS - Sulphur. This position does not have direct reports.
