Description

The Radiology Care Coordinator and Scheduler serves as a key liaison between patients, Radiology team and referring providers. This role ensures efficient scheduling of diagnostic imaging services and facilitates coordinated care by verifying orders, preparing documentation, and supporting the patient experience throughout the radiology process.

Role Specific: Work role responsibilities

 

Obtaining prior authorizations and scheduling radiology exams (e.g., MRI, CT, X-ray, ultrasound, mammography) accurately and in accordance with physician orders, imaging protocols, and patient availability.

· Serve as a primary point of contact for patients and providers, answering questions regarding procedures, prep instructions, and insurance requirements.

· Review incoming imaging orders for completeness and appropriateness; escalate discrepancies or unclear orders for clinical review.

· Confirm patient demographics, insurance eligibility, and any necessary documentation at the time of scheduling.

· Provide patients with exam preparation instructions and confirm appointment details via phone, email, or patient portal.

· Collaborate with technologists, radiologists, and clinical teams to optimize scheduling and patient flow.

· Monitor scheduling capacity and manage waitlists, cancellations, and rescheduling efficiently.

· Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).

· Support a patient-centered experience by facilitating timely communication, minimizing delays, and addressing patient concerns promptly.

Hours: Full time - Monday thru Friday

Wage - $19 - $25 (DOE)

Requirements

Required

  •  High school diploma
  • Strone clinic, ethical and moral character references. 
  • Language skill adequate for high level written, interpersonal and telephone communications in American English. 

Preferred 

  • At least 2 years of healthcare experience. 
  • Medical terminology
