Radiology Receptionist

Job Summary:

The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday 9:30am - 6pm.

The Radiology Receptionist is responsibility for greeting scheduled Radiology outpatients upon arrival, answering incoming telephone calls, completion of daily appointment reminders with thorough explanation of test preparation instruction, timely imaging records releases (iSite CD), retrieval and organization of imaging records from external facilities to ensure a seamless check-in experience.  Excellent customer service skills a must and may work under stressful circumstances at times. 

Education and Training:

• High school diploma or equivalency (GED), required.


• Medical terminology coursework, preferred.

Experience:

• Previous healthcare experience, preferred.


• 1 to 2 years customer service experience, preferred.


• Experience with general office equipment; fax, telephone, copy machine, computer, required.  

Skills and Abilities:

• Strong organizational stills and ability to prioritize tasks.


• Ability to communicate face to face and via telephone with patients, families, physicians and co-workers.


• Ability to type and use telephone.


• Working knowledge of medical terminology.


• Ability to identify and solve problems independently.


• Excellent computer skills and the ability to adapt to various programs/systems.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, provides high quality customer service.
