Radon Installation Technician

Position Overview:

Michaelis Corporation is seeking motivated and hardworking individuals to join our growing Mitigation Department as Radon Installation Technician. This position reports to the Mitigation Department and is responsible for the installation and service of residential radon mitigation systems. The role may also include work completing Mold Remediation and Water Mitigation projects as needed. 

The ideal candidate must be capable of performing basic electrical work necessary for radon system installation, including safely wiring radon mitigation fans to household circuits in compliance with code and company standards.  

About You:

• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic electrical work 
• Experience or comfort using hand tools and power tools 
• Ability to work at heights on ladders and in confined spaces (crawlspaces, attics, basements) 
• Detail-oriented with excellent customer service and communication skills 
• High ethical standards and strong problem-solving abilities 
• Willingness to learn and grow within the company 
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record 
• Ability to pass a full background check (7 years) and drug screening 
• Available to work nights and weekends as needed

Key Responsibilities:

1. Inspect homes and determine the most effective radon mitigation system design 
2. Install radon mitigation systems, including drilling, running PVC piping, installing fans, and sealing penetrations 
3. Perform basic electrical work to properly wire radon system fans in accordance with safety standards 
4. Operate drills, hole saws, coring drills, and other hand tools safely 
5. Maintain accurate job documentation and quality photos 
6. Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, professional jobsite 
7. Provide excellent customer service and communication 
8. Assist with Mold Remediation and Water Mitigation projects as needed 

Work Schedule:

• Normal office hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM 
• Emergency technicians are on call 24/7 and must be available for nights, weekends, and holidays if needed 

Compensation & Benefits:

• Hourly wage from $20.00 - $24.00 per hour based on experience

Location:

Indianapolis, IN (Must reliably commute or relocate prior to starting work) 

Requirements

Preferred but Not Required:

• Mold Remediation or Water Mitigation experience 
• 1+ years in a skilled trade or construction environment 

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry ladders (up to 60 pounds) 
• Ability to work on ladders up to 40 feet high 
• Ability to work in confined spaces, including crawlspaces and attics 
• Ability to work indoors in active construction environments and outdoors in extreme weather conditions
