Talent Solutions is partnering with Wagonhammer Ranch, a well-established Nebraska Sandhills ranch near Bartlett,  to hire a Ranch Hand for their cow/calf & seedstock operation. With a 115-year history of taking great care of people and cattle, this family operation values family, cattle, stewardship of the land, and ranching as a way of life. Responsibilities

• Assist with all aspects of cow/calf and seedstock production on a 2,300 operation 


• Calve cows and heifers, including tagging and keeping accurate records


• Feed cattle through the winter


• Check, move, and sort cattle on horseback or by side-by-side as needed


• Help with branding, weaning, sorting, and shipping


• Monitor herd health and doctor sick cattle as needed


• Assist with breeding season, including A.I. work


• Operate and maintain ranch equipment and machinery


• Help with haying as needed


• Build and repair fence, check water, and handle general ranch maintenance


• Assist with spraying leafy spurge and controlling cedar trees through mechanical removal and prescribed burns


• Perform other ranch-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required


• Prior ranch or cattle experience


• Experience with cattle nutrition is a plus


• Experience with range management is a plus


• Experience operating and maintaining ranch machinery is a plus


• A.I. experience is a plus


• Comfortable working cattle horseback is a plus


• Reliable, hardworking, and able to work in all weather conditions


• Takes pride in good stockmanship and caring for the land
