This position demands creativity and collaborative hands-on work to design, assemble, operate and optimize prototypes for oil and gas processing equipment. Role requires excellent mechanical, electrical, control and instrumentation, and a commitment to safety and quality initiatives. A strong background in practical mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering is essential\n\nSkills:\n\nThe candidate should have demonstrable working knowledge, experience, and proficiency with many of the skills below:\n\n * Experience operating, and maintaining complex mechanical systems, laboratory equipment, industrial scale process equipment, or small-scale pilots.\n * Understanding basic Oil, Water, and Gas production processes and operations.\n * Instrumentation and control systems, PLCs, and PLC programming are desirable.\n * Process Sensors. (Temperature, Pressure, Level, Flow, pH)\n * Hydraulic and pneumatic systems and equipment\n * Industrial process equipment, valves, pressure vessels, and pressure piping.\n * Interpreting process, electrical, and instrument diagrams.\n * Proven mechanical assembly is essential.\n * Proficiency with AutoCad, Visio, MS Word and Excel are desirable.\n\n\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nDesign and Development:\n\n * Complete the design and assembly of pilot systems and prototypes, translating conceptual ideas into functional equipment for testing and research.\n * Assist with realistic project schedules and budgets.\n * Assist project manager for design, construction, and installation phases of pilot or prototype development.\n * Size, select, and purchase equipment, and materials for pilots and prototypes.\n * Coordination with 3rd party vendors and subcontractors.\n * Interpret process, electrical, and instrument diagrams.\n * Develop and document operational procedures to guide research engineers in utilizing testing equipment.\n * Assist client or internal operations teams in the field occasionally. \n\n\n\nOperation and Maintenance:\n\n * Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment, such as pumps, heaters, industrial instrumentation, and control systems.\n * Ensure safe operation of prototypes and pilot equipment.\n * Take ownership of testing campaigns, from planning through execution and analysis, to optimize prototype performance and assure data accuracy. \n * Troubleshoot problems occurring with pilots and prototypes and work with the Research Engineering team to address unexpected results\n * Technical Documentation and Communication, including test results.\n * Assist in writing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs).\n\n\n\nSafety and Risk Management:\n\n * Evaluate projects for operational and safety risks and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.\n * Advise management on performance risks.\n * Maintain good housekeeping practices and manage inventory of tools, equipment, and consumables. \n\n\n\nQualification \u0026 Experience:\n\n * Degree: Not required, but a Bachelor\u2019s degree in any engineering discipline is a plus.\n * Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.\n\n\n
