Founded in 2009 by Elizabeth Stein, a certified holistic nutrition counselor, the company is dedicated to helping consumers thrive on their wellness journey.

What You Will Do

Purely Elizabeth is seeking a hands-on R&D Technician to support the Innovation team. Working closely with the Senior Food Scientist, you’ll prepare samples, support trials, and keep formulas, specs, and project files organized and accurate so the team can continue developing new and exciting products. This is a long-term role with real room to grow, perfect for a motivated food technician or scientist who is passionate about baking and product development. The position is hybrid, based in Boulder.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare benchtop and Sales team samples using formulas and priorities set by the Senior Food Scientist.


• Support product and plant trials, run routine product and shelf-life checks, record results, and flag issues for review.


• Coordinate ingredient and sample orders, trial logistics, schedules, and project follow-ups.


• Collect and organize supplier specifications, and assemble formula, nutrition, ingredient, and packaging files for review.


• Enter approved formulas into Genesis, validate nutrition values for Nutrition Facts Panels, and keep packaging records up to date.


• Maintain formula files, trial notes, shelf-life records, and project trackers, and capture meeting action items.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.


• 2-4 years of experience in food product development or R&D in CPG or food company.


• Baking science and hands-on benchtop formulation experience, with an understanding of ingredient functionality and how formulation, mixing, baking conditions, moisture, and processing parameters affect finished products.


• Experience supporting scale-up from benchtop through commercial manufacturing, including plant trials and formulation, baking, and processing troubleshooting.


• Experience working with co-manufacturers and ingredient suppliers.


• Familiarity with Nutrition Facts Panels, ingredient statements, and formulation documentation; experience with Genesis is a plus.


• Ability to independently carry out technical tasks, document results, and flag issues for review.


• Strong organization, documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.


• Experience with granola, cereal, oatmeal, bars, cookies, or other baked goods preferred.
