JOB TITLE: Range Water Technician II

JOB SUMMARY:
This position is within the Department of Natural Resources Range Water Program. The Range Water Technician II will be under the direct supervision of the Hualapai Department of Natural Resources (HDNR) Director and Range Water Lead. This is a range water technician staff position that requires submission of reports, photos that identifies issues of concern related to range water infrastructure and conditions. Must be able to manage range water project developments, including the operation and maintenance of existing water pipeline and water storage system infrastructure on Hualapai Reservation lands.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Utilize the Ranch Sense satellite computer water storage monitoring system and data management.
· Schedules maintenance and repair of all aspects waterlines, water line valves, pumps (booster and well) and storage tanks (steel, polyethylene and portable).
· Knowledgeable with the operation and maintenance of equipment such as backhoe and front end loader and dozer.
· Schedules construction and installation of all aspects of water line valves, pumps (booster) and storage tanks, (steel, polyethylene and portable storage tanks).
· Works with other Natural Resource Department Programs on various projects and other duties as assigned.
· Assists Agriculture Program with surveys, inventories and assessments of entire water system on the Reservation.
· Must be knowledgeable in a variety of water line pipes including steel, galvanized, pvc and polyethylene pipes, including specialized pipe fitting equipment and operation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:
· High School Diploma or G.E.D. Equivalent.
· Tribal member living on the Hualapai Reservation is preferred.
· Must be a team player to integrate with other programs within the Department.
· Must be willing to attend and receive training and certification related to the position.
· Must be able to work under any weather conditions, be in good physical condition and able to remain in the field for extended periods of time, up to 10 hour days and weekends as necessary.
· Must be able to lift 45+ lbs and able to carry bulky items such as several sticks or rolls of pipe (10 feet to 21 feet in length (3/4” diameter – 3” in diameter).
· Must have a valid Driver License and be eligible for Tribe’s insurance.
· Submit to and pass a pre employment and random drug/alcohol screening
