Description

YWCA Dayton, a 24 hours organization dedicated to the empowerment of women and the elimination of racism, seeks an energetic, dedicated person to be an integral part of our team. The Rapid Rehousing Specialist reports to the Housing Manager and is responsible for providing housing location and case management to survivors of domestic violence and their children. This person supports the vision, mission and values of YWCA Dayton.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures all intake information is completed within 30 days for new enrollments, including: screening and application, landlord information requests, move-in documentation, voucher preparation and file maintenance.
  • Meets regularly with clients housed through the Rapid Rehousing program to assist them in gaining employment, increasing income, budgeting, and case management.
  • Provide housing-focused case management, support and advocacy for clients/residents. Including providing education on tenant rights and responsibilities.
  • Provides quality customer service and is sensitive to the needs of clients moving through domestic violence.
  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of all current and available community resources.
  • Foster strong relationships with YWCA partners and landlords to optimize resources and support to effectively reach program goals.
  • Work with team members, funders and community partners to implement, manage and evaluate the Rapid Rehousing Program; participate in long- and short-term program development and planning.
  • Develop and effectively manage program timelines to ensure timely completion of program goals
  • Demonstrate ability to work both independently and as part of a team in an ambitious environment, meeting multiple and concurrent deadlines.
  • Adhere to administrative and recordkeeping guidelines to support contract and financial requirements and agency policies and procedures.
  • Attend agency and department meetings as well as interagency and networking meetings as appropriate.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned and required by program goals and objectives.

Requirements

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Active driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Understanding of racial equity and social justice issues and a demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of those we serve.
  • Responsive to the needs and requests of clients, residents, staff and Board of Directors with a willingness to collaborate and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to navigate with ease through computer programs (Excel, Word, surveillance cameras, etc.).

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Experience in housing and domestic violence services preferred.

YWCA Retirement Fund - Automatic enrollment in the YWCA National Retirement Fund upon completion of two years of employment (1,000 hours or more worked per year). Employer contributes 7.5% and YWCA USA contributes 3% to contribute a total of 10.5% of gross pay.
