Raw Material Processor- 3rd shift

Description

We're seeking qualified applicants for our 3rd shift Material Handler position. In this role you will:

• work with dryers, vacuums, grinders, and electric pallet jacks
• blend raw materials
• supply raw materials to the work cells
• work from 10 pm to 6 am

**Please note this position does not operate forklifts.

Primary Function:

Ensures adequate levels of raw materials are available at work centers in order to maintain continuous operations and minimize downtime.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides work stations with necessary raw materials to ensure production runs as scheduled in order to minimize scrap and eliminate potential downtime. 
• Ensures dryers and vacuums are operating properly and monitors temperature control unit settings. 
• Blends raw materials per work order specifications and transports to appropriate staging area or work station. Assists in scrap reduction errors by ensuring accuracy and elimination of over/under runs.
• Grinds and blends scrap raw materials to established standards in order to minimize environmental impact and maximize recycling program outcomes.
• Cleans and maintains dryers, grinders and other equipment to avoid contamination of raw materials.

Additional Responsibilities 

• Participates in shift hand off to discuss shift performance and any concerns for oncoming shift.
• Requests materials from warehouse as needed. 
• Utilizes system to enter and retrieve data.

Requirements

Required Skill/Knowledge 

Good verbal and written communication skills, good interpersonal skills, attention to detail, ability to work in fast paced environment and multi-task. Teamwork, dependable, organized, able to adapt to frequent change, basic math skills, basic computer skills.

Preferred Skills/ Knowledge: (Ideal skill set)  

ISO Standards, ERP system knowledge, continuous improvement concepts/tools such as 5S, previous manufacturing experience using forklift, pallet jack and basic hand tools. 

 Education Level / Required Certification:  

High school diploma, GED or equivalent. 

Additional Information:

May be required to work overtime, may be required to walk, stand or sit for extended periods of time. May be required to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, climb ladders. May carry items up stairs, may work in tight spaces. Will be exposed to odor of plastic and elevated noise levels, may lift up to 55 pounds. Must be able to wear required PPE. Will operate pallet jacks and may operate various types of industrial mobile equipment. Exposure to liquid colorants, alcohol, cleaning and slip agents. Other duties as assigned.
