Job Summary: The Raw Material Coordinator ensures the timely delivery, availability, and accuracy of raw materials required to support production schedules in a cosmetics manufacturing environment. This role acts as the liaison between purchasing, suppliers, warehouse operations, planning, and production teams to prevent material shortages, delays, and disruptions to manufacturing.
Hourly Wage: $24
Key Responsibilities
Material Tracking & Expediting
Monitor open purchase orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of raw materials.
Track shipment status, identify potential delays, and take corrective action to prevent production impact.
Expedite priority materials needed to meet accelerated or revised production schedules.
Supplier Communication & Coordination
Communicate daily with vendors regarding order status, shipping updates, lead times, and documentation requirements.
Resolve issues related to late shipments, partial deliveries, or quality-related holds.
Request certificates of analysis (COAs), safety data sheets (SDS), and regulatory documentation required for cosmetic ingredients.
Cross-Functional Support
Work closely with Production Planning to understand upcoming material needs and mitigate supply risks.
Coordinate with Receiving, Quality Control, and Inventory teams to ensure materials are inspected, released, and ready for production.
Organize finance-related documents for Accounts payable
Support Purchasing by providing supplier performance data and recommending actions when vendors fail to meet expectations.
Inventory & Data Management
Maintain accurate material availability status and purchase orders in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
Update delivery dates, notes, and expediting activities within the system for visibility across departments.
Compliance & Documentation
Maintain documentation and tracking logs for supplier performance, late deliveries, and escalations.
Associate’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field required, Bachelor’s preferred.
1+ years of experience in manufacturing supply chain roles preferred.
Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and quality/traceability requirements.
Familiarity with import/export processes or freight coordination.
Experience in supply chain, purchasing, logistics, or materials management—preferably in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, food, or other regulated manufacturing.
Proficiency with ERP/MR and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent communication and follow-up skills; proactive problem solver.
Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-driven production environments.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
