Raw Materials Inspector - Springville

The Raw Materials Inspector performs a variety of working level and technical duties as needed to assure the ongoing compliance with the quality standards and specifications in an assigned work unit, including but not limited to the production floor, shipping receiving and outbound inspection.

Schedule

Mo/Fr 9:00am-5:30pm.

As a Raw Materials Inspector, you will: 

• Inspect pallets and incoming containers for defects or contamination


• Check incoming C of A against internal specifications


• Fill out proper inspection paperwork


• Sample ingredients per SOP requirements


• Tag sampled bags or containers with sampled stickers


• Enter incoming ingredients info into QA spreadsheet on server


• Review raw material specifications, monitor testing requirements and Submit samples for testing


• Release ingredients, after C of A comes back


• Identify and fill out paperwork for rejecting materials or putting materials on QA hold. Ensure SOPs are followed.


• Ensure any defective material is returned to the vendor after the purchasing dept. is contacted in which they fill out a return form


• Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Education

• High School Diploma or GED


• 6 months -1.5 years related QA or laboratory experience


• Pass skills assessment exam with 70 % or higher on both reading and math comprehension

Work Environment

The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas which require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection. For the most part ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
