Job Description
The Rays of Hope (ROH) Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Rays of Hope Director in the ongoing operation of the ROH program. This is a full-time, exempt position.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Coordinates ancillary/ student volunteers including orientation and assignments.
2. Schedules and assists with intake. Ensures that appropriate paperwork is in place for intake and programs.
3. Conducts intake in the absence of or when requested by the ROH Director.
4. Participates in Hospice of Midland Interdisciplinary Team meetings when requested by the ROH director.
5. Provides callers with appropriate community resources.
6. Facilitates support groups as needed.
7. Reviews and makes suggestions for revisions of the program curriculum. Collaborates with the ROH Director to develop new curriculum.
8. Coordinates and participates in volunteer education. Conducts volunteer training in the absence of the ROH Director.
9. Confirms attendance of participants and volunteers.
10. Assists in recruiting volunteers; coordinates volunteer assignments and facilitates volunteer activities.
11. Collaborates with the ROH Director to determine appropriate group placement.
12. Makes class assignments and coordinates programs.
13. Provides information about services and conducts tours of the facility.
14. Assists the ROH Director with community outreach.
15. Promotes Hospice of Midland and ROH in the community.
16. Supports the Hospice of Midland and ROH Mission and Values.
17. Completes other projects and duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
1. Must have at least Bachelor’s degree in either Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Child and Family Studies, or a related field; professionally licensed in the State of Texas preferred.
2. Must pass a drug test and criminal check and have a satisfactory driving history.
3. Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and is in good working order.
4. Must be proficient in reading, writing and speaking English; bilingual in Spanish a plus.
5. Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
6. Must have good general office and telephone skills.
7. Must have good computer skills and knowledge of programs used by the agency.
8. Must have good knowledge of office equipment.
9. Must have the ability to prioritize projects, be organized and flexible.
10. Must be punctual, reliable and available when scheduled, which may include evening hours.
11. Must be able to manage and supervise volunteers.
12. Must have at least one year’s experience supervising children in a professional or volunteer basis.
13. Organization personnel are expected to participate in appropriate education as may be requested by their immediate supervisor. In addition, organization personnel are expected to accept personal responsibility for other educational activities to enhance job-related skills and abilities. All personnel must attend mandatory educational programs.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The Rays of Hope Program Coordinator must be able to sit, stand, squat, bend, kneel, twist and climb. They must also be able to lift and push/pull up to 25 pounds. They also occasionally are exposed to dust, walk on uneven or rough ground, and work near moving equipment. Hands will be used for repetitively grasping and turning, fine manipulation and speed work.
ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS
1. May be exposed to extremes of heat and cold in all weather conditions. Must drive in various weather conditions on roads in varying degrees of repair.
2. May be exposed to infections and contagious diseases. May be exposed to patient elements. Subject to varying and unpredictable situations. Handles emergency or crisis situations. Travel required. OSHA Exposure Category II (position includes tasks that involve no exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues, but employment may require some unplanned Category I tasks).
