Purpose of Position
The primary purpose of the Resident Care Coordinator (RCC) is to provide a wide variety of direct care to the residents and report to the Director of Nursing Services to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is always maintained. The RCC is responsible for training of non-licensed clinical staff (Caregiver, Certified Nursing Assistant, and/or Medication Technician). The RCC provides and models high standards of customer service by demonstrating the following: taking ownership of each and every interaction, communicating with a smile and accurately identifying customer needs and following through on requests, maintaining a clean work environment, and providing efficient service recovery by working quickly to resolve resident concerns.
Essential Functions
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently walk and stand for long periods of time, and frequently stoops, kneels, crouches or crawls, pushes, pulls, lifts, grasps, and feels. The employee frequently is required to use manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination when handling equipment. Requires corrected vision and hearing within normal range. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Typical healthcare and residential environment. The noise level is normally within a normal range. Occupational exposure to blood, body fluids, communicable diseases or other potentially infectious substances (Category III). Work schedule may include working day, evening, night shifts, weekends, and rotating holidays.
Education and Experience
High School diploma or general education degree (GED). Current CNA certification, Medical Assistant or Medication Technician certification required. Current CPR certification is preferred. Minimum of two years’ experience in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related health care facility is preferred. Must be able to read and write legibly in English. Ability to speak English effectively to individuals, customers, or employees of the organization. Must be able to comprehend and perform oral and written instructions and procedures. Possess basic personal computer skills and ability to utilize various software programs. Experience working with the elderly population is preferred.
