Job Description - Reactive Team Supervisor

Description

 

Summary (What/Why/Coverage)-Main Activities:

The maintenance Reactive Team Supervisor oversees performing highly diversified duties to install,

troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment whether it be electrical or

mechanical according to safety, predictive and preventative maintenance systems and processes to

support the achievement of Fitesa’s business goals and objectives.

Technical Competencies:

· Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office

· Ability to understand and interpret process settings and center lines

· Ability to use a calculator

· Ability to learn and become proficient with FIRM, ADP, and other internal database and

tracking software

· Ability to read and interpret Fitesa product codes, production schedules, and operations

documents

· Advanced troubleshooting skills and good mechanical abilities

· Ability to apply basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division

· Ability to read and interpret measurement from a ruler, tape measure, or other measuring

device in standard and metric systems

· Statistical Analysis skills with the ability to establish and audit against goals

 Behavioral Competencies: 

· Strong written and oral communication skills 

· Demonstrated ability and willingness to work as a team with other Slitter operators to ensure line goals are met; flexibility to help with packaging duties and/or other lines as needed 

· Demonstrated familiarity with manufacturing processes and equipment preferably of a large size, high speed nature · Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, conflict-resolution, and decision-making skills 

· Strong organization skills with attention to detail 

· Possesses a quality and customer-focused mindset 

· Willingness and ability to train, motivate, and coach other team members 

· Able to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously 

· Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision 

· Familiar with air and water pollution control technology and federal, state and community regulatory agency workings · Willingness and ability to learn and perform in other functions in the plant 

· Thorough knowledge of the occupation hazards and corresponding safety precautions necessary for the safe performance of assigned duties. 

· Willing and able to work flexible hours including rotating shifts as needed 

· Possess communication skills to relate effectively with people of diverse background. 

 

Key Responsibilities (What/How):

· Oversee performing highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and

the plant’s facilities equipment

· Manage teams of maintenance workers assigned to equipment repairs

· Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and

performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service

· Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities

· Frequently inspect facilities to proactively detect potential problems and recommend the

necessary repair or maintenance.

· Perform maintenance skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic,

hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines

· Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance

and service

· Participate in creating day-to-day work schedules.

· Monitor asset performance over a certain period of time

· Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.

· Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities

· Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions

· Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in

performing duties

· Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to

proper supervision.

· Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas

· Other duties, activities or responsibilities as assigned

· Work 12-hour shift

Requirements

 

Educational Background:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required
  • AAS in Mechatronics or related technical degree preferred

Work Background: 

Must have three to five years of experience

 

Physical Demands:

This position requires frequently lifting and/or moving up to 25 – 50 pounds and occasionally lift

and/or move up to 50 pounds. The position requires frequent lifting, walks and stands for long periods

of time, and performs strenuous physical labor under extreme temperatures. Specific vision abilities

required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth

perception and ability to adjust focus.
