Real Estate Accountant

Position Overview:

We’re hiring a Real Estate Accountant to play a critical role in maintaining the financial accuracy and operational efficiency of our business. This is not a passive bookkeeping role—you will be deeply involved in tracking deal-level financials, managing construction spend, and supporting leadership with clean, reliable reporting.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced, transactional environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Record and maintain accurate financial data across all transactions, including general ledger entries


• Journal and reconcile real estate settlement statements 


• Track construction and rehab expenses across multiple projects


• Process vendor invoices, payments, and accounts payable/receivable


• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and financial statements regularly


• Complete month-end close, reporting, and financial review preparation


• Assist Finance Manager in improving systems, workflows, and financial controls


• Prepare documentation and support for CPA meetings, audits, and tax filings


• Ensure financial accuracy across multiple properties and projects simultaneously

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting and bookkeeping experience (small business or real estate preferred)


• Strong experience with QuickBooks Online


• Proficiency in Google Sheets and/or Excel


• Experience with job costing, construction tracking, or real estate transactions strongly preferred


• Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) is a plus
