Real Estate – Accounting Manager
A Real Estate firm located in Boston is looking to bring on an Accounting Manager to their growing team. As the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for a portfolio of commercial properties. We are seeking candidates with strong property accounting experience within commercial real estate.
Responsibilities:
All property level accounting, including the following;
Work with 3rd party property teams
Rent rolls and lease maintenance
Cash management, weekly check fundings
Financial reports, annual budgets
Tax basis amortization and depreciation calculations, review/approve operation, and tax escalations
Loan compliance
Audit support
Joint Venture Accounting;
Prepare financial reporting on a consolidation or combined level, including audited financial statements with footnotes
Cash management including capital calls and distributions
Calculate/process management fees
Calculate income allocations including waterfalls
Acquisitions;
Review settlement statements; prorations and buyer/ seller credits
Review estoppels
Record opening entries
Monitor al post-closing activity for true up with seller
Onboard properties and train 3rd party teams on the firm’s financial standards and reporting
Dispositions;
Wok with Disposition team to respond to buyer diligence requests
Prepare prorations
Prepare and record closing entries including gain/loss calculation
Qualifications:
BA/BS degree in accounting
5 years od property accounting experience, 2 years within a management role
Experience with Funds and Joint Ventures
Understanding of waterfall calculations
Detail oriented, ability to handle multiple tasks at once
