Position Overview:
The Utah Inland Port Authority (UIPA) is looking for a Real Estate and Development Director who will be responsible for overseeing Utah Inland Port Authority’s (UIPA) real property. This position is primarily responsible for overseeing the execution and successful completion of a remediation of UIPA’s brownfield redevelopment project the “Crossroads Port Redevelopment Area” in the Northwest Quadrant of Salt Lake City. The goal of this redevelopment project is to create a targeted industry manufacturing and logistics campus. This position reports directly to the Deputy Director/CFO with strategic accountability to the Executive Director and will also play an essential role in providing oversight and direction to existing UIPA leased properties, including current and prospective subtenants and property management.

This position operates in a hybrid environment, requiring a split between a professional office setting and active industrial, brownfield, or landfill sites. While performing outside duties, the employee may be exposed to varying weather conditions, dust, odors associated with landfill operations, and uneven ground. The role requires the regular use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and travel to meet with stakeholders as needed.
Physical Demands
In general, the following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to allow differently abled individuals to perform the essential functions of the job. While this position involves standard office functions such as communicating effectively with employees and operating office equipment, it also requires significant physical mobility to effectively manage real estate assets. The employee must be able to independently traverse uneven, unpaved, and rough terrain typical of landfill and remediation sites. The role requires frequent standing, walking for extended periods during site inspections, driving to various locations, and the occasional reaching and lifting of objects up to 25 pounds, such as safety gear or site plans.
