Summary As a Real Estate Associate at Masuda Funai, you will handle real estate transactions for industrial, commercial, and multi-family use real estate. Transactions primarily involve the purchase/sale of property, new construction, and lease negotiations (primarily tenant representation).
Essential Functions
Represent clients in the acquisition and disposition of real estate; site selection and acquisition due diligence; title and survey examination; addressing zoning, land use and land entitlement issues; negotiating economic development incentives; property development and new construction; real estate financing, among other responsibilities.
Respond to clients in a timely, forthright, and professional manner
Manage and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner, and keep supervising attorneys and clients up to date on the status of assigned matters
Coordinate and collaborate with attorneys, legal assistants, and assigned staff, as well as provide reasonable support to colleagues
Maintain knowledge of legal developments in all states where admitted, including the timely completion of CLE as required by state licensing boards
Regularly attend practice group and firm meetings
Devote time to business development activities, either on a collaborative basis with Firm Principals, and/or on an individual basis.
Required Qualifications
Active license to practice law in Illinois
3-4 years of commercial real estate experience at a law firm
Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines

Licensed in the State of Michigan, in addition to Illinois

Compensation The salary range for this position is based upon various factors including the individual's experience, skills, and qualifications. An estimate of the salary range for individuals working a hybrid schedule in our Chicago office is $145,000- $155,000.
