Inventory management is an important and key function at Canby Builders Supply. The Receiving Coordinator plays a significant role in keeping the inventory accurate, preventing damage to stock and communicating receiving issues with purchasing, sales and vendor representatives. Accuracy is a crucial element of this job.

The primary responsibilities of the Receiving Coordinator are to Unload and Receive inventory delivered to yard. Note any damaged product and notify vendor for credit, if the damage product is a Special Order, the sales person also needs to be notified. Verify inventory and compare to the shipping document for accuracy. Tag special order items and complete location notes on the order. Rotate commodity stock so that the oldest stock will go out first (FIFO). Complete cycle counts according to the cycle count calendar and as required by the Operations Manager. Will also have forklift, load building, and counter duties as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Duties include loading,      unloading and movement of materials in the yard utilizing a forklift.
  • Receive all inventory      delivered to yard.
  • Count delivered      inventory.
  • Notify vendor of any      difference in inventory received vs. Inventory listed on packing slip.
  • Notify vendor of damaged      or defective inventory received.
  • Match purchase order to      packing slip and turn in to AP for scanning.
  • Utilizing best storage      practices put inventory away in its proper place.
  • Rotate commodity stock      so the oldest stock is used first. FIFO – First In First Out.
  • Assist Yard Supervisor      and Manager with returns, yard organization, and housekeeping.
  • Assist Prosales,      warehouse and yard employees with customer service.
  • Communicate with      customers, vendors and co-workers positively and professionally.
  • Assists customers in      loading and answer customer questions.
  • Understand and observe      all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or      co-workers, attend periodic safety meetings as required and may recommend      changes to improve safety procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality      and accuracy of all information related to company finances and records
  • Adhere to company procedures,      policies and protocols.

Requirements

GED or High School Diploma

Able to lift 50lbs

Ability to obtain Fork Lift Certification

Intermediate Math Skills

Attention to Detail

Dependable
