Job Summary & Essential Functions:
The Receiving Inspector is a vital part of the quality team within an electronic contract manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for inspecting incoming materials, components, and products to ensure they meet quality standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. The Receiving Inspector utilizes a wide range of inspection tools and equipment, ensures compliance with purchase orders, shelf-life, and traceability requirements, and labels materials requiring Safety Data Sheets (SDS). This role collaborates with quality, procurement, and production teams to address issues and improve overall product quality.
Responsibilities
• Perform detailed inspections of various incoming materials, which can include electronic components, PCBs, mechanical parts, a and custom assemblies, ensuring adherence to specifications and standards.
• Verify conformance to IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards, as well as customer-specific requirements.
• Conduct visual, dimensional, and cosmetic inspections using a variety of tools, such as calipers, micrometers, multimeters,
drop height gauges, microscopes, and automated optical inspection (AOI) equipment.
• Evaluate and document shelf-life compliance for materials with expiration dates, ensuring proper storage practices.
• Ensure traceability of all materials through accurate record-keeping and documentation.
• Review and confirm proper handling and storage of materials requiring Safety Data Sheets (SDS), ensuring compliance with
environmental and safety regulations.
• Identify and document non-conforming materials or components, working closely with suppliers and internal teams to resolve
issues.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and input data into quality management systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify root causes of defects and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist in developing and updating inspection procedures and documentation.

Work Environment and Safety Equipment Required:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the job.
• This is an electronics field service and manufacturing environment that requires the use of safety devices including glasses
with side shields and ESD equipment/clothing
• Must be willing to work overtime as needed
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
• Occasional lifting of objects up to 50 lbs.
• Bending at the head and neck
• Exposure to hot or cold temperature when working in areas of the building that cannot be temperature controlled.
Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and standards.
• Familiarity with IPC standards is preferred.
• Understanding of shelf-life requirements, traceability, and SDS documentation.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative, diverse team in a fast-paced production environment.
• Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to detect defects, discrepancies, and areas for process improvement.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.
• Minimum of (1) years previous receiving or warehouse experience required.
• Minimum of (1) years previous quality experience preferred.
• Minimum of (1) year previous manufacturing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) requirements for components and PCBs is preferred.
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and 5S methodologies is highly desirable.
