DEPARTMENT: Receiving Inspection 

Job Summary

To ensure material purchased by Virtex for our customers is acceptable per customer specifications.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Must accurately read and comprehend documentation relating to material/production
  • Inspection of material per customer specifications for workmanship, dimensions, tolerances and usability, using FIFO System
  • Release accepted material to stockroom
  • Record inspection results. Keeps accurate and detailed records
  • When material does not meet customers’ specifications, reject the material, and inform the supervisor of discrepancy for disposition
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe work environment by following safety policies and procedures, reporting any safety concerns, and participating in any scheduled stretch breaks
  • Actively participates in quality efforts and support the Virtex Quality Policy through accountable action  
  • Responsible for compliance to the Virtex Quality Management System and other regulatory and statutory requirements as required by the customer
  • Act as an authorized agent to stop material from release when nonconformances are noted, and immediately notify the group leader, supervisor or manager
  • Accountable for accepting responsibility for continuous on the job training by actively participating in training put on by designated Virtex employees and/or any outside service

Requirements

Education/Experience

  • High School diploma or General Education degree (GED) preferred, or 6 plus months related work experience
  • Basic knowledge of electronic components and computer skills are preferred
  • Basic mathematics and data entry skills  

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Due to ITAR Restrictions, US Citizenship or green card is required. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively as a team player.
  • Ability to read and understand technical documents such as standard operation procedures, blueprints, and other related documents.
  • Ability to perform basic math.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.    
  • Ability to lift, push and pull 10 to 25 pounds.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Must have good eyesight, as well as the ability to adjust focus and differentiate between colors.
  • Flexibility to work extra hours when needed, including weekends.
