Job Summary:
Perform visual and dimensional receiving inspection on incoming products, materials and commodities according to written inspection plans and work instructions. Identify and address nonconforming products. Support supplier quality activities as required. Comply with internal quality system, business policies, customer and regulatory requirements while supporting business goals and objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Pass inspection exam and maintain certification
- Compare quantity and part number of items received with procurement paperwork and other specifications to ensure completeness and accuracy of order and associated documentation
- Inspect incoming batch/lot-controlled materials and required paperwork for conformance including quantities, part marking, Certificates of Conformance (CoCs), First Article Inspection (FAI) reports, Material Test Reports (MTRs)/Certifications, routers and associated documents, etc.
- Inspect products, materials and commodities for conformance to blueprints, specifications, work instructions, inspection plans and purchase orders (POs) using precision measuring instruments and devices such as micrometers, calipers, or go/no-go gauges
- Maintain and review calibration of measuring equipment
- Identify and initiate action on nonconforming product and close out nonconformance reports (NCRs) as appropriate
- Evaluate required documents for compliance and manage acceptance records, including the scanning of documents for retention purposes. Documents may include: First Article Inspections (FAIs), Certificates of Conformance (CoCs) and Receiving Inspection Checklists
- Communicate with suppliers regarding discrepancies and work issues to resolution
- Assist with outgoing and incoming shipments of complete and partially complete products to OV (Outside Vendor) Sources
- Assist Quality and Engineering with the development of Assembly FAI packages as they pertain to purchased components
- Assist with containment and RCCA (Root Cause and Corrective Action) activities as needed to support Quality and Operations Teams
- Work under minimal supervision to plan and schedule workload
- Perform other duties as assigned
Schedule:
- 1st (Day) Shift: Monday-Thursday 6am-4:30pm
Work Environment:
- May be exposed to noise, dust, fumes, airborne particles, smoke (Not over OSHA Permissible Exposure Levels).
- Safety training and equipment are provided by MPP in accordance with applicable law, industry standards and company policy.
- Occasionally lifts 25 – 45 lbs.

Requirements
- Ability to pass vision test and maintain vision requirements
- High School Graduate/GED
- Able to lift up to approximately 25 pounds. May occasionally lift 50 pounds (with assistance)
- Able to obtain Forklift certification
- Legal Authorization to work in the United States
- Ability to speak, read and write English
- No active disciplinary issues (internal candidates only)
Desired Characteristics:
- Excellent attendance and punctuality history
- 1 year manufacturing experience preferred
- Attention to detail and hand/eye coordination skills
- Experience in measuring devices including micrometers, calipers, go/no-go gauges, and CMMs (Coordinate Measuring Machines)
- Experience reading and interpreting customer requirements such as specifications and engineering drawings
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
- Experience with generating NCRs (a candidate who has achieved MRB Disposition Authority at MPP is preferred)
- Ability to complete paperwork accurately, legibly, and timely
- Demonstrated flexibility with changing priorities
