Job Description - Receiving Team Member - 1st Shift

Eaton\u0027s EPG CHD EP Americas division is currently seeking a Receiving Team Member - 1st Shift. The core hours are 7:00am-3:30pm.\n\nThe hourly rate for this position is $19.31 per hour.\n\nPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nReceivers are responsible for verifying, handling, sorting incoming shipments. Receivers will utilize handheld RF (Radio Frequency) scanners and powered industrial forklifts to transport and accurately place both individual cases and full pallets of material in the system designated locations. Team members must maintain a safe work environment while meeting both quality productivity standards.\n\n * Operate multiple powered industrial equipment such as stand up/sit down forklifts, and the electric pallet jack.\n * Use RF units to scan product and location barcodes.\n * Relocate incoming shipments to pre-identified location.\n * Follow safety procedures for equipment used to reduce potential for accidents.\n * Use provided safety box cutters to cut packaging materials.\n * Complete daily checkoff sheets while monitoring equipment to ensure proper funtionality.\n * Lift products and place into proper staging location.\n * Communicate with direct leadership for direction and answer questions or concerns.\n * Communicate with coworkers to share expertise.\n * Meet quota/productivity requirements.\n * Maintain regular safety and cleaning standards to support 5S methodology.\n\n\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nBasic (Required) Qualifications:\n\n * A minimum of 6 months reach truck experience.\n * Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.\n * Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.\n * No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of Roanoke, VA (50 miles) will be considered for this position.\n\n\n\nPosition Criteria:\n\n * Must be able to lift to 50 lbs.\n * Remain standing for an extended period up to 10 hours.\n * Able to perform with constant movement of the arms.\n\n\n\n## PERFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES\n\nKnowledge: \n\u2022 English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. \n\u2022 Experience using Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc\u2026 \n\u2022 Experience using SAP and WMS (Warehouse Management System) ERP (Enterprise Resourse Planning) systems. \n\u2022 Production and Processing \u2013 Awareness of techniques for maximizing the effective manufacturing and production processes including quality control for the distribution of goods.\n\nSkills: \n\u2022 Critical Coordination - Adjusting one\u2019s actions in relation to another. \n\u2022 Basic Math \u2013 Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. \n\u2022 Speaking - Talking to others to convey necessary information effectively. \n\u2022 Time Management - Managing time enabling oneself to achieve predetermined goal. \n\u2022 Monitoring - Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action. \n\u2022 Active Learning - Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making. \n\u2022 Systems Analysis - Determining how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes. \n\u2022 Operation Monitoring - Observing gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure a machine is working properly.\n\nAbilities: \n\u2022 Spatial Orientation - The ability to know your location in relation to the environment or to know where other objects are in relation to you. \n\u2022 Manual Dexterity - The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects. \n\u2022 Dynamic Strength - The ability to exert muscle force repeatedly or continuously over time.
