About the Role

As a Receptionist with UMC, Inc., you’ll provide a warm welcome to visitors and callers, connect them with the right team members, and support smooth daily operations—all while staying aligned with our core values: Great People, Going Beyond, and Growing.

What You’ll Do

  • Greet guests professionally and hospitably, ensuring they are directed to the appropriate person or department. 
  • Answer telephones promptly and courteously, providing accurate company information or redirecting calls as needed. 
  • Maintain building security by monitoring the digital visitor log, issuing badges, following security procedures, and ITAR regulations. 
  • Maintains a safe and clean reception area, conference rooms and workroom area. 
  • Manage mailroom supplies (i.e., paper, envelopes, etc.) and postage meter, ensuring readiness for use. 
  • Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail promptly and accurately. 
  • Participates in all company event planning meetings to ensure support is adequate. 
  • Maintains supplies in all conference rooms including stocking water and snacks for visitors. 
  • Point of contact for vending supplier. 
  • Perform data entry, filing, copying, and other clerical duties as necessary to support the office and team operations. 

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. 
  • 1 to 2 years of relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of phone/paging systems. 

Skills and Competencies: 

  • Excellent customer service skills. 
  • Excellent phone etiquette. 
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook. 
  • Strong sense of urgency.
  • Excellent attention to detail. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to communicate and interface with internal and external customers. 
  • Knowledge and ability to make corrections to grammar, spelling, and punctuation. 
  • Able to make effective and timely decisions. 
  • Very strong organizational skills: ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to work on multiple projects while maintaining a high level of accuracy. 
  • Excellent judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work well with people at all levels. 
  • Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment. 
  • Ability to perform job duties with disruptions (i.e. phone, staff, etc.).
