Reception Staff Job Description

A receptionist is responsible for assisting each patient in navigating Timothy Center processes while at the facility.

Role:

Through a respectful, constructive and energetic style, guided by the mission of the center, a receptionist will assist patients when they are on campus either awaiting an appointment or following an appointment.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist current patients with scheduling via email, voicemail or portal within 24 hours of inquiry.


• Answer the current patient phone line and either fulfill the request or transfer the patient to the appropriate individual.


• Upload insurance correspondence to the patient file within 24 hours on an as needed basis.


• Make sure a proper form of payment is on file prior to every appointment, and charge the patient at time of service.


• Check patients in and out at front desk


• Confirm a clean EMR file at time of each service

• Schedule follow-up visits

• Hospitality within the waiting area (i.e. trash not overflowing, water dispenser is filled, lights are turned on, sound machines are on, etc)


• Cancel intakes without completed paperwork within 24 hours of an intake
  
  
  
  • Attempt to fill that appointment slot with a patient off of the waitlist who has completed paperwork
  
  
  
  

• Upload advanced fax documents to patient files within 24 hours of receipt


• Approve patient paperwork within 24 hours of receipt
