Job Description - Receptionist-Long Term Substitute
Position Summary:
As a Front Office Receptionist/Attendance Long Term Substitute at Ascent Classical Academy, you are a vital part of the school's commitment to excellence in classical education. This role supports the Academy's mission by ensuring a welcoming, organized, and efficient front office environment, which upholds the values of courtesy, respect, and integrity. This position is integral to both daily administrative operations and the overall school experience for students, families, and visitors.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Front-of-House Reception
Manage all incoming telephone calls to the main line; screen and route calls as appropriate
Respond to inquiries and provide student attendance and other relevant information to personnel, parents, and outside agencies
Assist students, staff, and visitors in the front office, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience
Conduct regular security checks on all individuals entering the building to ensure safety
Attendance Support
Support daily attendance activities and update attendance data for required reporting
Process and verify student absence information from parents, teachers, and other sources
Issue admittance forms to students who are late or returning after an absence
Perform a variety of clerical duties and record-keeping activities at the assigned school site
Address questions or concerns regarding school attendance
Oversees and manages incoming volunteer program for the school
Assists communications department with front office incoming and outgoing emails

Fully participate in all required in-service, professional development, and end-of-year wrap-up days, maintaining active engagement and presence throughout.
Position Requirements:
Associate degree or equivalent preferred
Proven experience in a front office or reception role, preferably in an educational setting
Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Professional appearance and speech
Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
Proficient in English, written & oral
Commitment to the policies, mission, and vision of Ascent Classical Academy Charter Schools of Colorado
Commitment to high moral character necessary to sustain ordered liberty and constitutional self-government
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, and the ability to effectively articulate information and issues
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment with superior organization and computer skills
Ability to develop positive and professional relationships with team members
Ability to provide excellent customer service and always maintain confidentiality and professionalism
Demonstrate consistent and reliable attendance by adhering to assigned work hours, reporting on time, and following proper procedures for absences or tardiness to ensure minimal disruption to students, colleagues, and school operations.

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds
Must be able to traverse the classroom and the school
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer, or standing
Must be able to supervise outdoor activities if needed
