Job Description - Receptionist/Patient Financial Services


**Full Time Position Monday - Friday at our Plains Rural Health Clinic 

Job Title: Receptionist/Patient Financial Services (Full Time)

Department: Business Office

Reports To: Business Office Manager

Position Summary:

Responsible for scheduling patients, answering phones, sending faxes, etc.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • 1-2 years clinic experience preferred, but will train the right applicant
  • Good verbal and written communications skills
  • Good organization/time management skills
  • Good customer service skills
  • Mathematical ability at a level necessary to accomplish job
  • Ability to quickly analyze billing problems and make appropriate corrections
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications such as Word, Excel and 10 key

Responsibilities:

  • Meet attendance and punctuality guidelines
  • Adhere to dress code; no t-shirts, tank tops, cut offs, flip flops or jeans (with the exception of Friday) are allowed.
  • Attend required meetings and in-service programs
  • Treat customers and co-workers with respect and courtesy
  • Complete mandatory education (i.e. HealthStream courses)
  • Adhere to policies and procedures
  • Maintain patient and system confidentiality
  • Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies
  • Responsible for scheduling patients, greeting patients when they arrive and checking them in.
  • record all patient charts and payments
  • verify proof of eligibility for insurance payments
  • have patient complete appropriate forms when they arrive.
  • answer phones, relay messages and return calls as necessary.
