Heartview Foundation, a non-profit substance use disorder treatment center, is seeking a Recovery Coach to join our compassionate team. If you are committed to providing hope and education on community resources to aid patients in their journey toward substance abuse recovery, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding position!

Position Overview: As a Recovery Coach at Heartview Foundation, you will collaborate closely with our clinical team to offer hope, education, and support to patients in their recovery journey. This includes utilizing your personal lived experience to connect with and inspire individuals seeking recovery. Your role will revolve around promoting recovery and wellness, embracing concepts such as medication-assisted treatment and harm reduction, and effectively communicating with patients. 

Additionally, you will need to have great organizational skills, honor recovery coaching ethics and confidentiality, and be sensitive to the diverse needs of our patient population. You should also possess a strong understanding of community resources and the ability to connect patients with those resources. A valid driver's license and a registered vehicle are required, and you will be assigned to work with patients of the same gender based on client needs/caseload.

Required Skills:

  • Positive and enthusiastic about working with people new to the recovery process.
  • Ability to establish empathy with others.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations and cultural backgrounds.
  • Comfort in working independently in community settings.
  • Acceptance of extremely flexible part-time working hours.
  • Must have an open mind to the many paths to recovery, including medication-assisted treatment.

Requirements

Qualifications: To qualify for this role, you should hold a high school diploma or equivalent, and a certification from the state of North Dakota's Peer Support Specialist curriculum is preferred, or you should have the ability to obtain this certification.

Our ideal candidate will also have:

  • A valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, insurance, and a reliable vehicle with no open legal cases.
  • Must have a cell phone with a working voicemail system.
  • All qualified applicants will be required to undergo a background check. Heartview Foundation is dedicated to maintaining a drug-free workplace, so all potential employees must adhere to our drug-free workplace policy. This includes completing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
