Job Description - Recovery Housing Specialist

Role Overview:


A detail-oriented professional responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring quality assurance systems for recovery housing programs. This role ensures consistent high-quality service delivery across recovery residences while promoting continuous improvement and adherence to National Alliance of Recovery Residences (NARR) standards and best practices. This role is also responsible for coordinating and facilitating training programs to support recovery house staff and build capacity within the recovery community. This role combines educational expertise with recovery knowledge to create meaningful learning experiences.  Personal lived experience with recovery housing preferred.


 


Key Responsibilities:


 


Program Quality Management:



  • Develop and maintain quality assurance protocols and procedures

  • Monitor compliance with NARR standards and state requirements

  • Create and implement quality improvement plans

  • Track program outcomes and performance metrics

  • Analyze trends in resident feedback and program data

  • Identify areas for program enhancement

  • Develop corrective action plans when needed

  • Monitor implementation of improvement strategies


Data Collection & Analysis:



  • Design data collection tools and processes

  • Maintain quality assurance tracking systems

  • Analyze program performance data

  • Generate regular quality assurance reports

  • Track incident reports and grievance patterns

  • Monitor resident outcomes and satisfaction

  • Create dashboards for quality metrics

  • Prepare reports for leadership and stakeholders


Documentation & Compliance:



  • Review program documentation for completeness

  • Ensure proper maintenance of required records

  • Monitor safety and incident reporting

  • Track certification and recertification requirements

  • Verify staff training compliance

  • Review resident documentation practices

  • Maintain quality assurance files


Training & Support:



  • Develop quality assurance training materials

  • Train staff on quality assurance procedures

  • Provide technical assistance to recovery residences

  • Support houses in implementing best practices

  • Guide operators in policy development

  • Assist with quality-related problem-solving

  • Share quality improvement resources


 


Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Experience with data analysis and reporting

  • Knowledge of recovery housing or behavioral health services

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Strong organizational and planning skills

  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills

  • Experience with curriculum development

  • Strong interpersonal communication abilities

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Knowledge of recovery community and culture


 


Preferred Qualifications?



  • Knowledge of the addiction recovery process

  • Experience with NARR standards implementation

  • Background in recovery housing operations

  • Knowledge of continuous quality improvement methods

  • Understanding of recovery-oriented systems of care

  • Familiarity with trauma-informed approaches

  • Certified Peer Recovery Specialist or equivalent

  • Experience in recovery community organization
