Complete and enter client documentation into EHR as evidenced by chart audit results upon client discharge with 95% compliance.
Conduct Consumer Advisory Council meetings as evidenced by quarterly meeting agenda, minutes and sign in sheets with 100% compliance.
Attend shift in professional attire as evidenced by wearing prescribed uniform with 100% compliance.
Program Development Responsibilities
Serve as advocate and liaison to consumers of behavioral health services, including consumers of services which are designed to lead toward wellness and recovery from mental illness, substance abuse, or problem gambling. This includes but not limited to meeting with consumers of all ages, their families and support system.
Organize, facilitate, and/or be a train-the-trainer for the Wellness and Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) training curriculum.
Maintain high standards of personal conduct. Teaching and acting as role model of value of every individual’s recovery and experience. Conducting self in a manner that fosters recovery through own recovery.
Serve as a resource on local issues regarding recovery and sharing that information to help consumers.
Maintain a working knowledge of current treatments and developments in the mental health and substance abuse fields, specifically related to recovery, through studies and approved continuing education workshops and trainings.
Share recovery-oriented information and materials with others.
Advise the regional and state staff about consumers and consumer issues to ensure policies can be developed in the most effective and consumer-centered manner possible.
Monitor consumer satisfaction within Mid-Plains Center programs of service.
Continuous Quality Improvement Responsibilities
Meet regularly with the Supervisor for individual supervision and using this process constructively for professional growth and development.
Actively participate in program CQI activities, including completing required surveys and reviews, conducting satisfaction surveys with consumers, working to identify potential solutions to problems, implementing solutions developed through CQI and assisting with the evaluation process.
Attend to additional tasks and assignments given by the Supervisor as deemed necessary to the functioning and success of the CSU program and Mid-Plains Center.
Participate in chart reviews for Continuous Quality Improvement.

Possess valid Nebraska driver’s license, provide proof of current car insurance, and access to reliable transportation.

Ability to maintain flexible work schedule.
Ability to collect information or data as needed.
Ability to respect the confidentiality, rights, and dignity of the individuals served.
Ability to work as a Psychiatric Technician as requested by Supervisor
Qualifications:
Former or current consumer of behavioral health services which have led towards recovery from mental illness, substance abuse, and/or problem gambling. High school diploma or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the desirable knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Two years of demonstrated consumer advocacy experience.
Experience in behavioral health consumer advocacy and developing and monitoring projects or plans; i.e., consumer-run direct service or projects. Also, familiarity of specialized services and resources available to persons who experience major mental illnesses and substance abuse/dependence (behavioral health services, housing options, vocational rehabilitation, entitlements, Medicaid, Social Security, etc.
Excellent communication skills (written and spoken). Bilingual fluency in English/Spanish is desired
