Job Location: Chicago, IL 

Salary Range: $45,000k to $52,000 Yearly

Position Description – What the Role Entails:

The Recovery Support Specialist (RSS) Team Leader will provide support for the recovery support team. The RSS team leader will represent the agency at community events with the purpose of providing awareness of the services offered by RFS as well as facilitating admission to our programs, Supervise and support the team in all outreach/retention activities and services.

Areas of Accountability - What you will be doing: The team leader must ensure that the following activities are carried out optimally by him and all members of his team:

• Create a welcoming, accepting, and calm environment for individuals. 

• Educate, model, encourage and support individuals on managing crisis using a variety of tools, including but not limited to personal recovery stories, coping techniques and self-help strategies. 

• Utilize and teach problem-solving techniques with individuals as well as how to identify and combat negative self-talk and fears. 

• Support for choice by the persons receiving services. 

• Be aware of and take appropriate action with high-risk indicators/suicidal and homicidal ideations.

• Communicates with members of the clinical team when appropriate and needed for appropriate peer care. 

• Advocate for individuals using professionalism and non-adversarial approaches. 

• Works with the team to identify programs and services that are conducive to recovery. 

• Completes all required program paperwork in an accurate, consistent, neat, and timely manner, following established program procedures. 

• Attend scheduled team meetings and actively participate in team. 

• Flexibility to adjust to changes in schedule based on documented needs. 

• Adhere to all state and federal privacy regulations, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2, and to Corporate Compliance policies and agreements regarding confidentiality, privacy, and security. 

• Support compliance with all privacy and security requirements pursuant to community partners’ and outside providers’ patient confidentiality agreements, including privacy and security requirements for EMR access. This includes immediate reporting of any PHI breach of Corporate Compliance or outside provider health records to the Corporate Compliance Legal and Quality departments, as well as to the program administrator.

Schedule:

• Recovery Support Specialist (Team Leader) will be working in a hybrid capacity, providing services/support onsite and in the community, attending events, and conducting outreach and retention activities. Team Leader may work on some events that take place on weekends.

Requirements

Position Qualifications – What is required to Perform the Role:

•  Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent required.
•  Personal lived experience as a consumer of mental health or substance use services. 
•  Demonstration of skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook). 
•  Knowledge of Computer Systems (Internet, Email, MS Word, Excel, SAMMS, CIS, or similar preferred)
