SUMMARY: Under limited supervision, plans, schedules, manages, and supervises the operations of the recreation center; oversees and coordinates facility use and schedule, and manage and develop outside contracts, vendors, and project budgets; supervises center staff and performs a variety of administrative and budget functions.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The job description is subject to change at any time by the employer. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Assists in the preparation of the department budget; prepares and submits budget for assigned division; monitors budget expenditures; prepares cost estimates for maintenance, repair, and capital improvement projects.
• Markets and promotes recreation center facilities and offerings to the general public; investigates complaints and recommends corrective actions; develops notification letters and other public information materials.
• Selects and trains and supervises staff members; schedules and assigns tasks and special projects; evaluates work performance and works with staff members to reach goals and to correct deficiencies; responds to personnel complaints and problems; implements disciplinary procedures as needed.
• Serves as liaison to user groups, organizations, clubs, and other departments; schedules and coordinates activities and events and manages event calendar; and administers Recreation Center facility use agreements.
• Completes various administrative duties including but not limited to preparing reports of work activities, collecting facility utilization data, and overseeing and inspecting work of private contractors.
• Supports the relationship between the Teton County staff and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with visitors and County staff; maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and County information; performs other duties as required or assigned.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Management or Leisure Services, or related field
• 5+ years of increasingly responsible related experience in recreation, leisure, and facility management
• 3+ years supervisory responsibility
Required Licenses and Certifications:
• Must possess a valid Wyoming/Idaho Driver’s License and maintain an acceptable driving record.
• CPR/First Aid Certification
• Aquatic Facilities Operator Certification (AFO)
Required Knowledge of:
• Principles and practices of effective project management, leadership, supervision, and training.
• Maintenance and repair standards for public facilities and aquatics operations.
• Best practices for inclusive program participation.
• Principles, standards, and regulations for accounting, cost recovery analysis, and developing and implementing budgets.
• Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, and codes pertinent to recreation activities and planning.
• Budgeting, accounting, and purchasing methods and principles.
Required Skills in:
• Preparing budget analysis, cost projections and cost-benefit analyses.
• Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with coworkers and other individuals in contact during the course of work; communicating clearly and concisely
• Operating a personal computer utilizing standard software such as Microsoft Office and some specialized software; functioning standard office equipment.
• Assessing, prioritizing, and managing multiple and/or complex projects and demands simultaneously.
• Planning, organizing, directing, scheduling, and supervising the activities of staff.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
• Work is performed in a standard office environment.
• Required to work unsupervised in the presence of children or vulnerable adults.
