Recreation Therapist

For over 125 years, Calvary Hospital and Calvary @ Home located in the Bronx, New York has been dedicated to the palliative care of advanced cancer and other terminally ill patients and their families. Through a caring, compassionate, philosophy of non-abandonment, the hospice provides a full spectrum of palliative services, including emotional, spiritual, and physical care. Summary: Provides therapeutic recreation services for patients which include: program planning, organizing, leading and evaluating of therapeutic interventions and programs.  Responsible for providing immediate supervision to the Recreation Technician.  Is directly responsible to the Director of Therapeutic Recreation

Qualifications: 

• Minimum Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Recreation and a minimum of two years full-time work experience in Therapeutic Recreation setting.  Eligible for certification as Therapeutic Recreation Specialist with the National Council on Therapeutic Recreation Certification Board.
• Exhibits an ability and attitude relative to the spirit of caring and tradition at Calvary Hospital as required by specific job duties and functions.

Salary:  $32.6974/hourly
