The Recruiter plays a key role in helping Hedrick Brothers identify, engage, and recruit qualified candidates to fill our construction and corporate positions. This opportunity serves as a strategic partner to hiring managers to support talent acquisition efforts and the company's workforce needs.
Success in this role requires strong communication skills, creativity in sourcing strategies, and a passion for connecting great people with great opportunities. We're looking for a recruiter who goes beyond the traditional "post and pray" approach by strategically sourcing, networking, and building relationships with top talent.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
TALENT ACQUISITION
Manage full-cycle recruiting for assigned positions from requisition kickoff through offer acceptance.
Partner with hiring managers to develop recruiting strategies, define position requirements, and support hiring decisions.
Source, screen, and present qualified candidates for construction operations, skilled trades, field leadership, and corporate positions.
Build and maintain talent pipelines to support current and future hiring needs.
CANDIDATE EXPERIENCE
Deliver a professional, responsive, and positive candidate experience throughout the recruiting process.
Conduct interviews, maintain communication with candidates and hiring managers, provide hiring recommendations and facilitate the hiring process to offer acceptance.
Coordinate pre-employment requirements in partnership with Human Resources.
EMPLOYER BRANDING & COMMUNITY OUTREACH
Represent Hedrick Brothers at career fairs, networking events, trade schools, colleges, and industry functions.
Build relationships with trade associations, colleges, military transition programs, economic development organizations, workforce development organizations and other industry partners to strengthen recruiting pipelines and promote the company's employment brand.
Promote Hedrick Brothers' culture, values, and career opportunities within the community.
RECRUITING OPERATIONS
Maintain accurate candidate records and disposition activity within the applicant tracking system to ensure timely communication, reporting, and recruiting metrics.
Monitor recruiting metrics and provide recommendations to improve recruiting effectiveness and hiring outcomes.
Ensure recruiting activities comply with company policies and applicable employment laws.
WHAT YOU BRING
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
Two or more years of successful experience in recruiting, talent sourcing, staffing, or a related recruiting role.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, Marketing, or a related field preferred; an equivalent combination of education and six or more years of directly related recruiting experience will be considered.
Experience sourcing candidates for construction, engineering, skilled trades, or professional services roles preferred.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Strong interviewing, candidate assessment, sourcing, networking and selection skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to build effective partnerships with hiring managers.
Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS), and online recruiting platforms.
Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
Ability to manage multiple searches and priorities simultaneously.
Proficiency with HR systems, Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams.
CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES
Professional recruiting or HR certification preferred.
Valid Florida driver's license and reliable transportation required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position is primarily performed in an office environment with occasional travel to company offices, jobsites, career fairs, networking events, and educational institutions. The role requires extended periods of computer work, communication with candidates and hiring managers, and occasional lifting of recruiting materials and event supplies.
