Job Description - Recruiting Specialist





Description

Position Purpose

The Recruiting Specialist plays a key role in supporting the company’s talent acquisition efforts by coordinating and executing recruitment activities. This position helps ensure a seamless and efficient hiring process by managing job postings, candidate communications, interview scheduling, and applicant tracking. The Recruiting Specialist contributes to building a strong talent pipeline and delivering a positive candidate experience, helping the organization attract and retain top talent aligned with its goals and culture. 

Responsibilities  

  • Post and manage job listings across job boards and social media platforms.
  • Review incoming resumes and conduct initial screenings for entry-level and mid-level positions.
  • Schedule and coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring teams.
  • Communicate with candidates throughout the hiring process to ensure a positive experience.
  • Maintain and update our applicant tracking system (ATS) with candidate information and recruitment status.
  • Assist with hiring reports, metrics tracking, and recruitment analytics.
  • Support career fairs, hiring events, and campus recruitment activities as needed.
  • Collaborate with HR and hiring managers to understand staffing needs and recruitment priorities.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and employment laws during the hiring process.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Requirements

Knowledge and Skills Required  

  • Basic Understanding of Recruitment processes and HR principles. 
  • Knowledge of federal state and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Customer service mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Office 365, or related software.  

Requirements  

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Exceptional follow-up and organizational habits. 
  • Ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure or tight deadlines.
  • Comfortable learning new technology platforms quickly.
  • Basic data entry and reporting skills.
  • Proficiency with, or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems. 

Physical Demands/Work Environment  

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times. 
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
