Driver Task List

It is the responsibility of the Driver to optimize the profitability of Willbee Transit Mix by performing to the highest level of efficiency in the following task categories: delivering material, tools, and products efficiently, safely, and productively while ensuring proper care and maintenance of his/her assigned vehicle(s) (mixers, tractors, trailers, and any and all equipment assigned), and effectively functioning in a capacity that ensures prompt, courteous customer service and delivery.

This position reports directly to the Redimix Operations Manager.

Specific tasks required to fulfill these functions are as follows:

1. Follows Directions well.

1. Displays the ability to readily learn the technical aspects of the job.

1. Ensures that vehicle is properly secured when not in use.

1. Delivers Company products as invoiced to specified customers.

1. Maintains good housekeeping procedures to reflect a clean, safe, and neat vehicle.

1. Performs a pre-trip inspection on assigned vehicles.

1. Is aware of and embraces company’s Core Values (Service, Teamwork, Excellence & Professionalism).

1. Maintains personal productivity and quality standards.

1. Communicates effectively with the Redimix Operations Manager and/or Yard Foreman, updating them regularly to ensure the highest level of efficiency.

1. Remains flexible to restructure schedule as needed.

1. Acts as a responsible representative of Willbee Transit Mix.

1. Drives vehicle(s) to and from destinations, adhering to all traffic laws.

1. Ensures that add-on sales items are properly secured and delivered.

1. When necessary, performs collection activities in an accurate and professional manner.

1. Helps maintain fleet parking areas in a neat and orderly manner.

1. Contributes to a work environment that fosters pride in being part of a winning team and promotes personal growth.

1. Seeks guidance and direction as necessary for performance of duties.

1. Demonstrates good judgment in investigating problems.

1. Respects the confidentiality of company information.

1. Maintains cooperative working relationship with Redimix Operations Manager and other members of the WTM team.

1. Performs field wash-outs in appropriate areas.

1. Demonstrates ability to tactfully handle difficult situations.

1. Makes best use of time during the workday.

1. Consistently shows ability to recognize and deal with priorities.

1. Performs all duties in an independent manner with little supervision.

1. Recognizes and performs duties which need to be performed although not directly assigned.

1. Shows up to work on time and in the proper gear.

1. Does not abuse or take advantage of time off, always provides proper and advance notice of absence.

1. Maintains a well groomed appearance.

1. Adheres to all OSHA and company safety regulations.

1. Is aware of and adheres to Willbee Transit Mix’s drug and alcohol policies.

1. Performs any other related or unrelated, unassigned, unspecified, unusual or special duty his supervisor may assign from time to time.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:    Includes sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling and use of hands and arms to operate yard and field equipment and lift and carry products up to 100 pounds.

MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:       Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.  Must possess a valid current CDL. Must be able to work under time and budgetary pressures.

WORKING CONDITIONS:          This person will work a portion of the time in the yard and office, which can be noisy and dangerous due to the frequent operation of yard equipment and material handling.  The outside time will be spent in the open visiting customers at their locations which can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter, hazardous, noisy and dusty.  These locations are visited throughout the year and during all weather conditions.
