Referral Coordinator for KSF Orthopaedic Center

General Summary:
A non-exempt medical office position responsible for all referrals for the medical offices in the market.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
* Process patient referrals for the practices in the market
* Facilitates orders outside to outside facilities.
* Coordinate scheduling of office visits for the referred patient
* Assist patient with finding resources that accept the various insurances
* Obtains pre-authorization from payers.
* Calls insurance companies to get medications approved that may have been denied due to formulary changes.
* Logs in daily to system to check status of patient not mapped correctly and updates patient charts
* Set up referring providers, payers and chart mergers in the Electronic System.
Education:
High school diploma/GED required with completion of a medical assisting or medical office assistant program preferred.
Certification:
Prefer healthcare management/administration or Medical Assistant certification.
Experience:
Must have a minimum of four years of experience working in a medical office setting.
