Regional Coordinator Supervisor Opportunity

What You’ll Do
The Regional Coordinator Supervisor works within the Office of Prevention Services.  The position will serve in the assigned region Northwest (Tallahassee). This position requires a flexible work schedule due to some weekend and after-hours (evening) work.

Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for:

• Coordinates and communicates with the Office of Prevention Services management and its stakeholders on items related to delinquency prevention and assists, when necessary, in carrying out duties and responsibilities of other Prevention Services activities.

• Supervise staff, evaluating staff, plan, and direct staff’s work and build a reflective team, to continuously improve provider performance through prudent hiring, effective coaching, mentoring, and support, as needed

• Coordinate, assist, plan, and attend Prevention initiatives and/or projects to support the community and stakeholders to further assist the goals of the DJJ Office of Prevention Services Collaborates with education services and residential staff in the assigned circuits to problem-solve issues impacting access to CTE options for students. Collaborates with the statewide commitment manager to ensure appropriate program placement using career assessment results. Develops and monitors cooperative agreements between school districts, CareerSource, pre-apprenticeships, community partners, business partners, colleges and universities, and DJJ to provide support for CTE programs and opportunities for exiting students.

• Conducts routine observations through on-site visits; assists in the provision of technical assistance; in-service training and guidance on contractual issues statewide for Prevention services.

• Reviews educational records for students returning to assigned circuits and participates in community reentry team meetings to discuss continued CTE upon release from commitment. Reviews Perkins grant awards and allocated budgets to ensure program projects and resources are expensed within the timeline of the grant award. Reviews, analyzes, and researches legislative issues and prepares analysis of the projected effect of any proposed legislation or action.

• Review provider deficiencies, assists in resolving deficiencies and resolve program related incidents.

Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a candidate who brings not only technical expertise but also a passion for education and student success. Our ideal candidate will have:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.

• Two (2) years of supervisory experience. 

• A valid driver’s license is required.
