Job Description - Regional Director of Outreach- California


  

College Living Experience (CLE) is seeking to hire a Regional Director of Outreach in California. CLE supports neurodiverse young adults in pursuing higher education, career pathways, and independent living. Our program combines educational support, independent living skills, social and self-advocacy development, and career preparation to help students navigate the transition to adulthood successfully.
 

 

Students at CLE include young adults with autism, learning differences, ADHD, cerebral palsy, and other neurological or developmental differences. All share a need for individualized support in academics, daily living, social communication, and career readiness, and our team helps them build the skills to thrive independently.

CLE is rooted in collaboration and teamwork. Our staff work closely with students, families, and colleagues to provide flexible, individualized support that meets students where they are. We are looking for professionals who are adaptable, solution-oriented, and committed to helping neurodiverse students build confidence, independence, and meaningful connections.

JOB SUMMARY: 

The Regional Director of Outreach is responsible for cultivating new relationships and maintaining existing relationships for growth and developing new market opportunities and referral sources within California on behalf of CLE. This will be done in collaboration with the Regional Outreach team and leadership to achieve the primary goal of building our student communities across all CLE centers, with a particular focus on the California market. This requires knowledge of and the ability to engage in learning about California public funding streams and work with community partners and families to create smooth pathways to access funding.  Analysis, planning, and implementation of outreach and development strategies are critical to achieving our primary goal. The ideal candidate naturally engages with people, seeks out new opportunities, excels in communication skills, and actively listens to referral sources and families to understand the need to ensure the highest level of satisfaction.

The Regional Director of Outreach must have the passion to pursue, create, and uphold the highest standards across the post-secondary support services industry.  

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following: 

1. Ambitious & Proactive: Promotes brand name recognition and national growth of CLE programs seeking out and seizing outreach and marketing opportunities

2. Research & Strategy: Research referral sources to develop student recruitment leads for all CLE locations and actively develops and maintains good relationships with viable sources. Pursues all possible leads, making frequent and appropriate contact in a proactive approach to convert leads into enrollments.

3. Assessment: Continually monitor and assess relationships with key referrers to determine local/regional/national needs for serving a neurodivergent population. Review the quality of referrals from each source with the National Admissions Advisors and Center Program Directors. Use feedback to adjust efforts where needed

.

4. Communication & Education: Collaborates with National Admissions Advisors and Center Program Directors to assist in implementation of family tours, visiting professionals, educators, and other referral sources to the CLE program structure and services.

5. Marketing Management: Maintains active database of resources and referrals and monitors performance relative to recruitment goals by entering lead/contact information into company software platforms and produces reports on progress as required.

6. Community Relations: Explores, develops, evaluates, and prioritizes recruitment channels to leverage CLE’s standing within the community of independent education consultants and other organizations. Assists in developing and executing national marketing plan.

7. Relationship Management: Assists in cultivating relationships with referral sources by proactively communicating progress, accomplishments of referred students, or status. Keep all referral sources up to date on changes to the admissions process, tuition, or other relevant confirmatory information. 

8. Advocacy: Learn about guidelines, regulations, and the process of accessing funding through the Department of Developmental Disabilities and work with key stakeholders to assist with securing funding for prospective students. 

9. Community Liaison: Participates in visits, parent trainings, and speaking engagements, regarding transition with - high schools and high schools or with audiences serving students with learning disabilities, autism spectrum and other disabilities as well as families.

10. Teamwork & Collaboration: Actively participates in regular National team meetings and stays abreast of information regarding CLE programs and services. Assist in the development and execution of regional marketing outreach plans. 

12. Market Research: Monitors competition and competitor activities within the field of special education, transition, and post-secondary students in the assigned region and surrounding states.

13. Continuous Improvement: Engages in ongoing learning and engagement about the field of special education and transition to stay abreast of changes, trends, language, and research related to our work. 

14. Travel approximately 20%-60% (depending on the month): Travels throughout California, with potential for national travel, participating in applicable conferences, parent meetings, high school-hosted college fairs, networking, and speaking engagements, while maintaining effective communication and coordination with the National Outreach team.

Requirements

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (Master’s preferred) with 3-5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Experience in secondary, postsecondary, or special education; outreach, marketing, and post-secondary transition services are preferred. 
  • Direct experience working with referral sources and families of students that fit profile.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Power BI, and PowerPoint is required.    

Work Environment & Travel

This is a remote–based role focused on outreach across the Northern California region, with regular travel throughout the area. Travel is expected to range from approximately 20–60% per month depending on the time of year and enrollment cycle. 

Candidates based in the San Francisco Bay Area, East Bay, or Marin County are preferred to support regional travel needs. 


Salary Description

$73,000–$85,000 Annually (depending on experience)
