The Director will also teach at least one class per week at each club to lead by example, support member relationships, and stay actively involved in the program.

Why This Role Matters:

Group Fitness is one of our most powerful tools for building community, driving retention, and delivering value to our members. As Regional Group Fitness Director, you’ll shape the in-class experience across all clubs in the New York market—creating a consistent, high-energy culture that supports club success and member satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and manage weekly class schedules across all Lift RF New York locations.

  • Balance class offerings across formats and time slots to meet member demand.

  • Lead seasonal programming initiatives and class launches, including Silver Sneakers growth.

Instructor Leadership

  • Hire, onboard, and mentor a strong team of certified instructors.

  • Host quarterly team trainings and provide regular one-on-one coaching.

  • Create and manage a performance feedback loop using standardized class audits.

Club Support & Engagement

  • Partner closely with Club Managers and Fitness Managers to support scheduling, instructor reliability, and programming results.

  • Visit each club weekly to teach at least one class, engage with members, and reinforce standards.

  • Ensure backup instructors and sub plans are in place and communicated clearly.

Performance Standards & Auditing

  • Conduct quarterly audits rating instructors on coaching, energy, cueing, music, and brand standards.

  • Track progress, flag underperformance, and celebrate top talent.

  • Maintain a KPI dashboard including attendance, coverage, instructor retention, and audit scores.

Marketing & Culture

  • Help clubs promote classes via social media, events, and instructor highlights.

  • Drive participation in specialty programs and themed workouts.

  • Foster a strong instructor culture of professionalism, positivity, and member focus.

Admin & Budget Oversight

  • Approve instructor payroll and manage club-level Group X budgets.

  • Maintain certification records and scheduling tools.

  • Monitor class attendance and resolve gaps in programming proactively.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Active certifications in at least 3 of the following:

  • Strong coaching, communication, and leadership skills.

  • CPR/AED certified.

  • Ability to travel to all Lift RF New York locations weekly and teach one class at each.

  • Flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends when needed.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Silver Sneakers or other senior programming.

  • Familiarity with Retro Fitness or HVLP clubs.

  • Bilingual (Spanish or Creole) is a plus

Compensation: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
